Audit reflects success for FY 2002

The city of Alabaster’s 2002 Year End Audit reflects &uot;a very successful year,&uot; according to Mayor David M. Frings.

In a letter read to the City Council on Monday night,

Frings noted that the city had received its year-end audit from Till, Eddleman and Hester P.C.

&uot;The auditors have congratulated the city on a very successful year. General fund revenues increased from $7,886,876 in year 2000 to $9,486,013 in 2002.

&uot;General fund expenditures increased to $8,714,215 in 2002. There was an excess of $771,798 of revenue over expenditures for the year 2002.

&uot;The sewer fund also reported a year-end of revenues over expenditures.&uot;

Frings thanked the council for its assistance in making the 2002 budget year &uot;one of the best for the city of Alabaster.&uot;

&uot;I would also like to express special thanks to all of the employees, especially the department heads and supervisors for making 2002 a great year. This was definitely a team effort.&uot;
