Library, Red Cross recognized by council

The Albert L. Scott Public Library and the Red Cross Service Center in Alabaster were recognized for their efforts during last Monday’s Alabaster City Council meeting.

Mayor David Frings recognized the library and librarian Nan Abbott for receiving a Two Star Award from the Alabama Library Association’s Public Library Division.

The award will be presented on April 4 at the Alabama Library Association annual convention in Mobile, was based on a self analysis of services, personnel, facilities, circulation, technology and more.

On behalf of Councilmember Adam Moseley, Councilmember Michael Sherwood recognized Patricia Tyler, customer service coordinator for the Alabaster Customer Service Center of the Red Cross. And recognized March as Red Cross Month in Alabaster.

Councilmember Henry Hines reminded everyone that April 12 will be Pride Day in Alabaster for a citywide cleanup effort
