Nikki Reeves and Mike Dennis are the two newest additions to the staff of the Shelby County Reporter.

Reeves was hired recently as an advertising representative, and Dennis was hired as the newspaper’s circulation manager and an advertising representative.

&uot;Both Nikki and Mike bring a wealth of experience to our team, are very customer-service focused and have a great deal they will

contribute,&uot; said Reporter publisher Tim Prince. &uot;Nikki and Mike are genuinely good people, and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with each of them.&uot;

Reeves comes to the Reporter from the Alexander City Outlook, where she served as classified advertising manager.

&uot;It feels really good to be a part of the Boone Newspaper team again. They make every effort to put out great products that serve and promote the community,&uot; she said.

Reeves, 23, lives in Clanton with her husband, Tim, and their 3-year-old miniature dachshund, Bailey.

She grew up in Alabama, spending most of her childhood in Baldwin County.

She attended the University of South Alabama and worked for Dallas/Ft. Worth Community Newspapers, the Mobile Register and Gulf Coast Newspapers before coming to the Reporter.

Dennis resides in Verbena with his wife, Karen, and their two children, Brittany, 13, and Garrett, 10.

&uot;We have lived in Verbena where I grew up since we were married on the property settled by my family before Alabama was a state,&uot; he said.

Dennis grew up on a farm and began working with the public during his sophomore year of high school. He began his management career the summer after he graduated in 1983 as a warehouse manager for a parts and equipment dealer in Clanton. He ran a depot for a uniform service in Verbena until December 1990.

He began his newspaper career in early 1991 with the Clanton Advertiser as circulation manager, continuing there until 2001. He worked for Frito Lay from 2001-03.

&uot;After a short break away from the newspaper industry, I realized I had a real passion to continue my newspaper career and after much prayer, I received the opportunity,&uot; he said. &uot;I am very proud to have the opportunity to serve the people of Shelby County with their circulation and advertising needs at the Shelby County Reporter.&uot;

Dennis said he looks forward to a long and successful future at the Reporter.

&uot;All the people at the Reporter and throughout Shelby County have been very nice to me and if I haven’t had the pleasure to meet or serve you yet, I look forward to the opportunity,&uot; he said.

&uot;I hope to form a long-lasting relationship with all the good people of Shelby County and to provide a good product to better serve each person of Shelby County.&uot;

Dennis and his family attend Chestnut Creek Baptist Church, where he and his wife teach a discipleship training class.

He is also involved in the local schools, where he serves as PTO president; the Athletic Club where he serves as secretary; the Youth Football League where he serves as vice president; the Youth Baseball League where he serves as president and the Save Our Schools community group where he serves as chairman
