OMHS volleyball players sign letters of intent

On April 16, 2003, three Lady Eagles signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball at the college level.

Meg Davis was awarded a Presidential Honors academic scholarship along with an athletic scholarship to Carson-Newman College in Jefferson City, Tenn.

Davis played right side hitter and achieved a 4.3 GPA.

She plans to pursue a degree in nutrition.

Nathalie Sherrod was awarded an athletic scholarship to Georgia Southwestern State University in Americus, Georgia.

Sherrod played left side hitter and achieved a 3.0 GPA.

She plans to pursue a degree in computer science.

Sarah Keaten was awarded a Valedictorian/Salutatorian academic scholarship along with an athletic scholarship to the University of Montevallo in Montevallo.

Keaten played left side hitter and achieved a 3.9 GPA.

She plans to pursue a degree in biology.

All three played club ball during the 2003 season for the Birmingham Volleyball Club.

Sherrod played on the 18-1 Premier coached by C.J. Sherman, the head volleyball coach at the University of Montevallo.

Davis and Keaten played on the 18-2 Premier team coached by Tammy Richardson, the head volleyball coach at Pelham High School.

For the 2002 season the Oak Mountain Lady Eagle volleyball team, coached by Valeria Hackett, finished as the 6A State Runner-Up with an overall record of 51-7
