Shelby’s Nicks wins at CAS

Shelby’s Ty Nicks drove his No. 2 car to the win at Central Alabama Speedway in the Pony class division last Saturday night.

Nicks fought off the No. 11 car of Shane Massy of Shelby who finished in second place while Terry Bradshaw of Calera took third place honors.

In the street stock division Montevallo’s Bo Snell too the checkered flag in his No. 10 car while Ken Lawrence and Dewayne Adams finished second and third, respectively.

Wayne Lucas took the win in the Dixie Lightning class after Justin Mcree of Woodstock had mechanical problems.

In the Pure Stock division, the No. 2 car of Derrick Price took the win and Jimbo Barnes finished second. Shawn Carlee took third place.

In the Winged Sprint Cras division Bobby Z. of Columbus, Miss. took the checkered flag with Kevin Thomas of Cullman taking second. Rex Smith of Jay, Fla. came in third.

Central Alabama Speedway races every Saturday night and is located seven miles west of Clanton. On Saturday, Aug. 16 vintage race cars will make their first appearance at the speedway.
