The city of Helena passed a $4.4 million budget last week.

The budget for fiscal year 2004 includes total administration expenses of $4.2 million.

Total expenses for city services amounted to $42,240. Fire Department expenses totaled $36,762; $44,550 for library expenses; and $28,250 for police department expenses.

Administrative expenses include $55,000 for a building payment; $28,000 for the city shop; $16,800 for computer supplies and software; $29,800 for conferences and conventions; $17,500 for continued employee education; $108,500 for the city’s court system; $30,000 for donations; $72,500 for fuel/lubricants; $165,500 for employee insurance; $89,250 for landfill permits; $126,300 for the city’s newsletter and printing; $2.25 million for payroll; $105,000 for state retirement costs; $96,500 for utilities; and $10,000 for the city’s website.

Total projected revenues for the city are $4.5 million.
