He said she was terminated for misconduct under her responsibilities and duties as a license office supervisor.

According to media reports, $300 in cash was discovered to be missing from the license office in the Shelby County Courthouse.

Rush was unable to be reached for comment.

Columbiana Mayor Allan Lowe offered his support to Rush and her family.

&uot;I’m not familiar with all the details of the situation, but I can say (Rush) has always acted in the best interest of the city and that this situation does not involve any city business whatsoever.

&uot;Sherry Rush and her family are close friends of mine and I hope they always will be. And they have the prayers of my family and me.&uot;
