Corey Dawkins joined the Reporter staff this week as a classified advertising sales representative.

Originally from Evanston, Ill., Dawkins graduated from Alabama A&M University in Huntsville.

Dawkins’ mother and father are retired teachers who now live in Winston-Salem, N.C.

He is the youngest of three boys. Dawkins taught middle school and high school English in Huntsville and Madison County.

He now lives in Sterrett with his wife of four years, Latasha.

Dawkins said he looks forward to joining the Reporter team.

&uot;I’m excited about working for the Shelby County Reporter because of its wonderful and rich history,&uot; Dawkins said.

Reporter publisher Tim Prince said Dawkins is a welcome addition to the team.

&uot;Corey brings a great deal of enthusiasm to our team, is very customer-focused; both of which make him a very good fit for our company.

&uot;We are exited that Corey has joined us,&uot; Prince said.
