Maybe they got the message

Just six more days until the beginning of the Legislative session.

Since the last one, Alabamians have demanded more efficient, more honest and more accountable government.

We can’t wait to see what the outcome of those demands will be.

Will it be business as usual on Goat Hill when the session opens?

Or will our legislators have heard the call to make meaningful changes in Montgomery?

We certainly hope the resounding defeat of Gov. Bob Riley’s tax and accountability package last September sent a message they will take to heart.

We want efficiency. We want honesty. We want accountability.

We want some creative ideas on funding our state government.

And with the attitude of the people what it is, it’s apparent that if we don’t get those things, the people will go searching for someone else to do the job come election time.

Let’s hope they got the message
