Indian Springs and Briarwood Christian each had two coaches honored as Shelby County coaches of the year among the Reporter’s 2004 All-County soccer selections.

Boys coaches of the year are: Class 1A-4A – Rick Tozzi, Indian Springs; 5A – Mark Wallace, Briarwood; and 6A – Derek Dearman, Oak Mountain.

Girls coaches of the year are: Class 1A-4A – Hunter Grey, Indian Springs; 5A – Andrew Brower, Briarwood; and 6A – Robert Starr, Spain Park.

Boys All-County Soccer players are: Briarwood – Ben Bloodsworth, M.J. Tehini, Mathew Wallace, John Hall, Taylor Gwaltney; Oak Mountain – David Morgan, Clark Powell, Chealen Martain, Matt Taylor, Stephen Hudgens; Spain Park – Michael Salamone, Kyle Gilbreth, Andrew Simms, John Fulland, Dalton Huey; Indian Springs – Allen Eskridge, Mark Waldo, Marc Fawall, Sean Goldfarb, Matt Furnace; Thompson – Kevin Ratigan, Jake Nix, Adam Gilmore, Michael Denaburg; Chelsea – Scott Shelton, Andrew Shelton, Daniel Hurley, Austin During; Pelham – Jordan Means, Andrew Guarino, Nathan Richey and Patrick Farrell.

Girls All-County soccer players are: Briarwood – Allison Whitworth, Arrington Money, Mandie Powell, Kathryn Adams, Megan Shine; Oak Mountain – Merritt Mathias, Ann McIntyre, Catherine Spiker, Erica West, Brittaney Correia; Spain Park – Kathleen Walsh, Addison Ragsdale, Courtney Truett, Megan Garver, Micaela Crowiey; Indian Springs – Kat Whitley, Jen Whitley, Bizza Theibert, Ashley Duquette, Roseland Chapplin; Thomspon – Lauren Vandiver, Alana Hawk, Mary Box, Autumn Hallmark; Chelsea – Emily Crawford, Charlie Bowman, Chelsea Culpepper, Gina Lisella; Pelham – Jamie Scurlock, Amber Key, Erin Comer and Julie Covington.
