The town of Westover has added a new face to its Government Utilities Services Corporation board of directors and has added 15 acres to the town limits.

Meeting on Tuesday, June 8, the council approved a resolution to appoint William Wilson Johnson to the GUSC. He replaces David Cooper, whose term expired and who elected not to continue on the board, according to Mayor Roger West.

The council also annexed 15 acres of land on the west side of town owned by Patricia Ann Morrison-Bolian.

Shelby County Sheriff Chris Curry also spoke to the council and citizens on the benefits of forming a Neighborhood Watch group
