Enjoy this FYI edition

This week’s edition of the Shelby County Reporter is a special one.

We call it For Your Information – FYI. We call it some other things; but I really shouldn’t put those in print.

Anyway, it’s our second largest edition of the year.

We work hard to gather the most up-to-date statistics and information about our county and publish it in one handy shot.

That way, visitors, new residents and even old-timers can thumb through and find the best and brightest of Shelby County.

We certainly could write forever about our county.

There’s so much history here. I always learn something new – every time we do something like this.

I love learning about the places in our county that I can go to see life as it once was.

And then there’s the present.

There’s so much growth here. Reporting the changes from year to year is exciting. Population is growing; commercial areas are growing; and residential areas are popping up all over.

School numbers are ever-increasing. That’s always an interesting facet to our FYI report.

Sometimes it seems redundant and boring to us; because we go over it and over it daily as we try to keep on top of everything that is going on here.

But the fact is that ours is a &uot;moving and shaking&uot; county.

It’s moving and shaking around us. All of us see it and live it every single day.

When it’s put on paper, it is absolutely amazing.

I hope you will join us in our fascination as you read through this year’s For Your Information edition.

We have worked very hard on this edition and we certainly hope you enjoy reading it. If you have ideas for future FYI editions, or the newspaper in general, please do not hesitate to call.
