This has been a very nasty series of municipal elections, probably not the nastiest, but it definitely had its moments.

Now, the votes have been counted.

Residents have chosen who they want their leaders to be for the next four years.

At this point, it’s time to move forward to the business of making those four years the very best they can be.

Shelby County municipalities face a myriad of challenges, not the least of which is sometimes overwhelming growth.

There is little time for retaliation, for dwelling on the past.

We must now work together to face the challenges head on and keep our communities and our entire county the very best it can be.

That is what the voters want. That is what the voters expect, and that is what we will demand from our elected officials
