Shelby County students wins superintendent art show awards

Several Shelby County students were honored recently at the Superintendent’s Art Show.

According to Cindy Warner, public relations supervisor for Shelby County Schools, the students’ artwork was selected by their local teachers for submission in the show and then judged by a panel.

The winners and the finalists’ work was put on display at the Shelby County Board of Education’s Central Office in Columbiana.

They were also automatically submitted for the State Superintendent’s Art Show in Montgomery.

In addition to the Shelby County Superintendent’s art show winners, an additional seven students from Shelby County had artwork submitted at the state level.

Winners of the Shelby County Superintendent’s Art Show by category and group include:

Category I: (Original Art Work)

Elementary School:

Grades K- Two, Jordan Roldan, First Grade, Montevallo Elementary, Allen Cecil, teacher.

Grades Three- Six:

Elsa Sims, Sixth Grade, Riverchase Middle, Nancy Elliott, teacher.

Grades Seven – Eight, Jared Brown, Eighth grade, Columbiana Middle, Lonnie Moore, teacher.

Grades Nine -10, Caroline Lowery, 10th Grade, Oak Mt. High,

Ashley Lemley, teacher.
