Zach Richey got the start and pitched four innings, suffering through his first loss of the season as the Hornets fell 7-1.

Doug Pate went 3-for-4 in the loss.

Chelsea came back strong to start Game 2 with a leadoff home run by Walker Kent.

The Hornets took a one-run lead into the seventh inning but watched it slip away as Thomasville came away with a 9-7 win.

Casey Morris, Pate and Sturdivant each went 3-for-4 and James Ward added two RBIs.

Pate struck out eight

and walked four in six and two-thirds innings.

Chelsea finished the year with a 21-5 record and closed the regular season with the school’s highest ranking.

The Hornets were perfect in area play this season, clinching the 4A, Area 8 title with a 6-0 mark.
