A lot of dads are being celebrated on Sunday, and rightfully so, because as we all know the father’s role in a family is paramount.

However, not all fathers are equal. Some go above and beyond and exemplify the type of sacrificial love that is normally only seen in the climactic scenes of movies like &uot;Field of Dreams&uot; or &uot;Father of the Bride&uot; when the music swells, and you are left wishing that your father was &uot;just like that.&uot;

Fortunately for me and my four younger sisters, my dad is one of those guys. Thanks to him, my life can be characterized by memories which mirror those sappy movie moments we all long for.

The amazing thing about my dad is that he has never been aware of his exuding &uot;awesomeness,&uot; as my 8-year-old sister Sabrina would say.

He has two master’s degrees, a Ph.D. and has won countless awards in his field of work, yet he is still the guy who wears a humungous picture-button of his daughter’s face on the front of his fishing hat to all her soccer games, always the unassuming genius.

These manifestations of my dad’s silliness are precious commodities because most of his time is spent taking care of other people.

Until two years ago when I started college, he was working a full time job, working 35 hours a week on his doctorate and helping my mom homeschool five girls all at the same time.

He never went hunting or golfing, and I can’t even remember him watching a football game. Instead, his free time was spent carting kids, cooking dinners and spending time with us.

All his sacrifices have shown me that he is the greatest dad in the world.

He has taught me everything I know about love, learning and sacrifice, and I plan to spend my life trying to prove to him that his money and work mean something to me.

Happy Father’s Day, Dad. Nobody deserves to be celebrated more than you.
