Montevallo resident

Harvey Preston Collins, 74, of Montevallo died Sunday, July 17, 2005, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster. He was born in Alabama on Feb. 22, 1931.

Service will be today, July 20 at 1 p.m. at Charter Funeral Home.

BRENDA J. HETHCOX

Columbiana resident

Brenda J. Hethcox, 57, of Columbiana died Saturday, July 9, 2005. She was born April 26, 1948, in Birmingham and was a member of Lesters Chapel. She was a longtime resident of Chelsea and worked at the Inverness Wal-Mart. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Startley, and Margaret Startley Waits.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Hethcox; her son, Tim (Jennifer) Hethcox and Shane (Tammy) Hethcox; her stepfather, Ed Waits; her sisters, Anita Henderson and Sharon (Neil) Crim; her brother, Bobby Startley; her grandson, Tyler Hethcox; her granddaughters, Marlena Wood and Deaven Wood; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Service was July 13 at Bolton-Letlow Chapel, the Rev. Lawrence Parker presiding. Burial followed in Wooten’s Chapel Cemetery, Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directing.

LEE M. &uot;MONTY&uot; HINDS

Pelham resident

Lee M. &uot;Monty&uot; Hinds, 35, of Pelham died Saturday, July 16, 2005. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Pelham (Lakeview). He graduated from Pelham High School in 1988.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Lee Hinds.

He is survived by a daughter, Carsen Hinds of Helena; a son, Caden Hinds of Helena; his mother, Karen (Stephen) Bortrick of Loganville, Ga.; his grandmother, Carrie Sue Hinds of Pelham; his fianc/e, April Headley of Jemison; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be today, July 20 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Highway 150 in Hoover. Graveside service will follow at 1 p.m. at Jefferson Memorial Gardens South, the Rev. Howard Brasher presiding and Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home directing.

DOROTHY MAYHUE

Wilsonville resident

Dorothy Mayhue, 77, of Wilsonville died Sunday, July 10, 2005. She was born Jan. 27, 1928, in the Fourmile community. She was a longtime resident of Wilsonville and a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Edward Mayhue; her daughter, Peggy Ann Rodriguez; and her granddaughter, Brandi Sackett.

She is survived by her daughters, Donna McDonald of Colorado, Betty &uot;BJ&uot; McFalls of Georgia and Rhae (Kevin) Baker of Minnesota; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven stepchildren; numerous step-grandchildren; and her sisters, Martha Jean Hutto and Helen White.

Service was July 14 at Bolton-Letlow Chapel, the Rev. Wayne Crumpton presiding and Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directing. The family requests memorial donations be made to Bethel Baptist Church in Columbiana, Alzheimer’s Research, the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.

Alabaster resident

Christopher Dalton Pinion, 23, of Alabaster died Friday, July 15, 2005. He was born June 22, 1986, in Shelby County.

He is survived by his wife, Kali Pinion; his parents, John and Patricia Pinion; his brother, Charles Gregory Pinion; his sisters, Cassie Marie Pinion and Carrie Delene Pinion; his grandmother, Mary Kay Pinion; and his other family and friends.

Service was July 18 at 2 p.m. at Bolton-Letlow Chapel with burial following in Elliottsville Cemetery, Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directing.

Esther M. Redd, 90, of Montevallo died Monday, July 11, 2005, in Alabaster.

Service was July 19 at 1 p.m. at Rockco’s Funeral Home Chapel in Montevallo, the Rev. David Reed presiding. Burial followed in Ryans Cemetery in Maylene.

Columbiana resident

Lola E. Rimmer, 87, of Columbiana died Wednesday, July 13, 2005. She was born Aug. 9, 1917, in McNair County, Tenn.

She is survived by her sisters, Betty Motes of Pelham and Nancy Brewer of Texas; and her nephew, Duane (Cindy) Motes of Alabaster.

Graveside service was July 16 at 11 a.m. at Hand Cemetery, Bolton-Letlow Funeral Home directing.

WILMA E. &uot;BILLIE&uot; ROY

Resident of Randolph, Ala.

Wilma E. &uot;Billie&uot; Roy, 78, of Randolph, Ala., died Sunday, July 10, 2005, at home.

Service was July 13 at 9:30 a.m. at Shady Grove Baptist Church, the Rev. Johnny Horton presiding. Burial followed in the adjacent cemetery, Rockco’s Funeral Home directing.

Mark Odell Thorton, 46, of Montevallo died Sunday, July 17, 2005, in Alabaster.
