Fans at Shelby County Speedway were thrilled to see driver Lenny Fowler make his return to racing in the Pure Pony division Saturday night. Fowler made his first appearance in the black No. 2 car and had all eyes upon him as he led his class to the finish line.

Sandy Dawson (No. 88) earned his first win of the night in the Hobby division. Gordon Wordon (No. 15) struggled to keep a steady position in the middle of the many cautions and ended up finishing behind Dawson in second. Mark Smith (No. 02) started seventh and had made his way to third on lap nine but lost the position after he tied up with Jerry Jarvis (No. 18) coming out of turn four. Mike Taylor (No. 76) finished third with Gary Ingram (No. 17) in fourth and Jerry Jarvis (No. 18) in fifth.

The Pure Stock division began with Johnny Carroll (No. 4) on the pole. David Davis (No. 00) quickly jumped ahead of Carroll after three laps were completed. Carroll seemed to have handling issues and after causing three cautions was sent to the pits. Davis went on to take the win with Dennis Maulden (No. 11) in second.

Lenny Fowler (No. 2) obviously had the fastest car in the Pure Pony division. Fowler led all 12 laps of the feature race and celebrated his first win in his No. 2 car. Megan Barnett (No. 7) had fans cheering as she finished her best race of 2005 in second behind Fowler. Dave Harbison (No. 2G) finished third and Jason Bazzell (No. 9) in fourth.

Josh Ingram (No. 16) led the Thunder and Lightning division to the starting line. Sandy Dawson (No. 88) started outside of Ingram. Ingram held his first-place position until lap three when Dawson took the lead. Dawson led the remaining laps of the race to earn his second win of the night. Jimmy Pyle (No. 19) finished behind Dawson in second with Kenneth Shirley (No. 33) in third, and Ingram in fourth.

Mike Rominger (No. 22) and Eddie Pickett (No. 44) gave fans an exciting race as they switched in and out of first and second place. The two drivers showed off their driving skills, keeping the race clean and quick. Pickett crossed the finish line first for his fourth win of the season. He leads the 2005 point standings with a total of 102 points over rookie driver Cody Dean (No. 54).

The Hogg division ended the feature races for the night with Harold Hannah (No. 21) starting first. William Adams (No. 12) started outside of Hannah. The two drivers kept their positions the entire race. Ted Denson (No. 6) managed to keep his car out of trouble and rolled across the finish line third. After post-race inspection, drivers Hannah and Adams were disqualified for not meeting vacuum requirements, leaving Denson with the win, Bobby Butler (No. 33) in second, Aaron Vick (No. 11) in third, Jeff Bailey (No. 98) in fourth and Gary Woods (No. 77) in fifth.
