Teen Read Week celebrations at the Albert L. Scott Library in Alabaster brought out artistic talents in Young Adult patrons. The slogan for TRW was &8220;Get Real @ Your Library.&8221;

YAs turned out for Real Crazy Collages and created jewelry, magnets and larger works of art on Tuesday, Oct. 18. Kids, ages 11-14, used colorful metallic paper, sequins, words and pictures from magazines and more to make their unique art pieces.

Another group gathered for Real Denim Doings/Traveling SmARTy Pants Craft Mania on Oct. 20.

The tweens and teens used denim, paint, stencils and other materials to create one-of-a-kind inspirational wall hangings. The program was inspired by &8220;The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants&8221; book series and movie.

At both programs, kids also got a chance to look at library books about arts and crafts, fashion and the three &8220;Traveling Pants&8221; books
