Woman arrested in county shooting

A 72-year-old Birmingham woman is in police custody after a shooting in North Shelby County over the weekend.
On Saturday Nov. 19 at about 5:30 p.m., Shelby County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Heath Drive in the Inverness area of North Shelby County on the report of a shooting, according to sheriff’s office officials.
Upon arrival, deputies found a male with an apparent gunshot wound.
He was treated by North Shelby Fire and Rescue at the scene and transported to a local Birmingham hospital.
On Nov. 21, Shelby County Sheriff’s Office Investigators arrested and charged Clara Vickery Bell, a 72-year-old female of Heath Drive Birmingham with Domestic Violence first degree.
The charge has a bond of $20,000. Bell is currently being held in the Shelby County Jail.
The victim was identified as Cecil Bell, 51, of Heath Drive.
The woman who was arrested and the victim were husband and wife.
