Cortez Eugene &8220;Tez&8221; Cotton, 18, of Columbiana died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2005. He was a lifelong resident of Shelby County

and a student at Shelby County High School, where he served as captain of the varsity basketball team. He wa a member of the First Baptist Church of Wilsonville.

He is survived by his parents, Ronald Burt and Catherine Cotton; his brothers and sisters, Norman (Yolanda) Cotton, James Earl (Debra) Cotton, Bridgett Michele (Alex) King, Loretta Cotton and Carolyn Cotton; and his grandparents, Emory and Betty Burt.

Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 1 from noon to 6 p.m. at Westside Funeral Home in Calera. Service will be Friday, Dec. 2 at 1 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Columbiana, Westside directing.
