The Eagles’ Tyler Gallimore scored 10 of his team-high 12 points on the free-throw line Tuesday night, going 10-of-12 from the charity stripe to help Oak Mountain defeat rival Vestavia, 37-32.

Four of Gallimore’s free-throws came late in the fourth quarter to help the Eagles seal the win.

Despite coming away with a victory, OMHS head coach Jerry North said he was

not pleased with his team’s performance.

&uot;I don’t think we played very well at all,&uot; North said. &uot;We’ll take an ugly win though.&uot;

North credited the Rebels’ defense, which held the high powered Eagles to one of their lowest scoring outputs of the season.

&uot;They’re one of the best defenses in Alabama as far as I’m concerned,&uot; he said.

Thomas Nordyke added eight points for the Eagles on offense.

On defense, Oak Mountain held Vestavia to only eight points each quarter, which helped move them to victory and an 18-2 overall record this season.

The week-long Hoops for Hope fundraiser, sponsored by both Oak Mountain and Vestavia Hills high school to benefit the American Cancer Society, wrapped up at halftime of Tuesday night’s game.

Over $10,000 dollars was raised in a week by students at both schools and the local community.

Spain Park 53, Hoover 38: Spain Park recovered from cold shooting in the first quarter of their game against the Hoover Bucs Monday night to earn a 53-38 win.

The Jags hit only one shot in the opening period but went into halftime with a 20-13 lead.

Cameron Terry and and Jonathan Hall led the way for Spain Park, with each player netting 10 points in the victory.

Shelby County 62, Stanhope Elmore 59: Mike Moore scored 16 points and Chris Bland added 11 as the Wildcats edged Stanhope Elmore, 62-59 Tuesday night.

Thompson 71, Pelham 37: The Thompson Warriors topped rival Pelham Tuesday night with the help of a double-double by Gary Cunningham.

Cunningham finished the game with 15 points and 15 rebounds while Siddeeq Cooper scored 14 for the Warriors. Pelham’s Steven Clark and Robert Hatcher led the way for the Panthers, scoring nine points each in the losing effort.

Montevallo 64, Oak Gove 47: Brian Fulgham led the way for the Bulldogs, scoring 25 points as Montevallo topped Oak Grove, 64-47, Tuesday night. Fulgham’s teammate Alex Gaddis added 17 points as the Bulldogs moved to 3-1 in area play.

Kingwood 70, Coosa Valley 61: The Kingwood Lions topped Coosa Valley Tuesday night, 70-61, as the Lions’ Cody Owens scored 20 points to lead his team. Nick Holcombe finished with 14 points and 14 boards in the victory.
