KCS is AISA Blue Ribbon School

Kingwood Christian School has received the Alabama Independent School Association Blue Ribbon School designation for the 2005-06 school year.

An AISA Blue Ribbon School exemplifies excellence in teaching, student performance, school life and school and community interaction.

The school is involved in an ongoing process of school improvement. The program is sponsored by the AISA to recognize member schools with outstanding educational programs. KCS has attained a high level of excellence in the areas of student and teacher performance, plant and facilities, student life and community involvement.

Price receives four-year scholarship

Emily Price of Alabaster is the recipient of a four-year University of Alabama at Birmingham Green and Gold scholarship valued at $18,000.

She is the daughter of Gina and Jeff Bishop of Alabaster.

Price is a senior at Kingwood Christian School. She is a second place state Science Fair winner.

Eddins receives four-year scholarship

Michael Eddins of Columbiana is the recipient of a four-year University of Alabama at Birmingham Academic Excellence scholarship valued at $32,000.

He is the son of Paul and Sue Eddins of Columbiana.

Eddins is a senior at Shelby County High School. He is the Beta Club vice president and Student Government Association executive treasurer.

Foster earns dean&8217;s list honors

John P. Foster, son of the Rev. and Mrs. John Foster of Montevallo earned dean&8217;s list honors for fall term 2005 at Furman University in Greenville, S.C.

Jones exhibiting work in Ruston

Greg Jones of Montevallo will exhibit his work this month as a member of the first-year class of Louisiana Tech&8217;s master of fine arts program.
