Pelham police arrest two for 12 robberies

Pelham Police arrested two men last week on multiple warrants of first-degree robbery.

Sly Govanny Aguilar and Jose Fransisco Banegas are being held in the Shelby County Jail on 12 counts of robbery. Each count has a bond of $100,000 for a total bond of $1.2 million.

Pelham Police Lt. Larry Palmer reported the robbery occurred Feb. 11 at Camino Real Tienda, a Mexican merchandise store located at 3083 Pelham Parkway.

&8220;We&8217;re not releasing a lot of information,&8221; Palmer said, &8220;as the investigation is not complete.&8221;

According to the report made at the scene, some $11,965 in cash was stolen along with $10,410 in assorted jewelry, a number of wallets and two cellular phones valued at $620.

Aguilar and Banegas were arrested Feb. 13
