Tucked away just off the intersection of highways 11 and 36 in Chelsea, Chelsea Bible Church finds itself in one of the fastest growing areas of Shelby County.

CBC, which was founded by pastor Dick Martin in Fall 1988 and was originally called Grace Community Church. The church originally met in a vacant office space along Highway 31 in Alabaster. In 1998 they moved into their current location.

CBC&8217;s current pastor, Nathan Ingram, serves as the leader of the congregation and also works outside the church as a website consultant. Ingram received his bachelor&8217;s degree from Southeastern Bible College in 1994 and served as senior pastor at Grace Bible Church in Leesville, La., from 1994-99 before coming to Shelby County. He currently resides with his wife and child in the Alabaster area.

&8220;Chelsea Bible Church is an independent, evangelical church committed to the fundamental and historic truths recorded in the inerrant, inspired holy scriptures, the Bible,&8221; the church&8217;s website reads.

Ingram said what makes CBC different from other churches is the attitude of the congregation.

&8220;You&8217;ll find instant friends and an environment of joy that is glorifying to our God,&8221; Ingram said.

Ingram said the church focuses on verse-by-verse preaching, blended worship styles and teaching God&8217;s word accurately.
