James &8220;Jim&8221; Albert Beard, 53, died Saturday, April 29, 2006 at his residence in Alabaster.

Service was May 1 at Rockco&8217;s Funeral Home in Montevallo. Burial followed at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Maylene.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Flora Beard, and granddaughter, Hannah Jarvis.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Lou Beard; his daughters, Angie (Jerry) Jarvis of Dogwood and Marie Beard of Georgia; his son, Rodney Wayne Whitfield of Maylene; his father, Howard Beard of Alabaster; his grandchildren Contessa, Christopher, Jeremy and Nicholas Whitfield and Katie and Lacie Jarvis
