Church Focus: Christian Life Fellowship

Christian Life Fellowship in Calera is a come-as-you-are church known for its youth ministry.
Quite young itself, CLF started in October 2002 after another Assembly of God church disbanded and donated the sanctuary to the group which has grown tremendously from its original 22 members.
Three-and-a-half years later, the church has more than 300 people attending Bible study or worship.
Pastor Mark Davis said the church&8217;s worship is quite relaxed and contemporary.
&8220;Our music is more of a rock band than a choir,&8221; said Davis, who founded the church when he &8220;didn&8217;t even know anyone in Calera.&8221;
Besides Sunday morning and Wednesday night services, CLF offers several other ministries to the community.
&8220;Celebrate Recovery&8221; outreaches to people trapped in drug and alcohol addictions and attitude problems.
CLF also sponsors an after school Student Center, where junior and senior high students can visit from 3-6 at the church&8217;s downtown annex for games, sports and other activites.
&uot;It gives kids a positive after school activity,&uot; said Davis.
