Alabaster&8217;s fourth annual CityFest smashed last year&8217;s previous attendance record by 15,000 visitors.

Early estimates show that nearly 35,000 people visited Municipal Park June 3 for music, arts and crafts and family fun.

The swell in attendance was due in part to headliner Joe Nichols, who has had six top 10-country singles and earned four Grammy nominations.

&8220;We were very excited about having Joe Nichols headline this year&8217;s event,&8221; said Alabaster Councilwoman and committee chair Angela Moseley.

&8220;Each year our music line-up has gotten better and this year was our biggest draw yet.&8221;

Other performers included &8216;70s rock band Foghat and local artist Michael Warren.

&8220;CityFest is a huge day of family fun,&8221; Mayor David Frings Said. &8220;We are able to host everything from a variety of excellent music to kids games and food. And perhaps best of all, the entertainment and children&8217;s events are free.&8221;
