A 43-year-old Helena man was arrested by the Hoover police Friday for the possession of obscene materials involving a person under the age of 17.
Hoover Police Capt. Jim Coker said David Shelton was arrested in Old Town Helena after he tried to get a roll of film developed at a pharmacy in the Hoover area.
Pharmacy staff contacted the police after the film was found to contain &8220;obscene and sexually suggestive images involving a minor,&8221; Coker said.
Shelton, who resides at 866 Old Cahaba Drive in Helena, is currently being held without bond in Jefferson County jail.
A Hoover city judge initially set Shelton&8217;s bond at $1 million but later decided
to hold him without bond after additional obscene material was found on his home computer.
Coker confirmed that the Hoover and Helena police departments are conducting a joint investigation into the matter
