Hard to imagine but the college football season kicks off in just 38 days; high school football two days earlier. Water cooler conversations are already turning to football and how one&8217;s favorite team will fare this season.

If the excitement of the coming football season is already evident in your home or office and you enjoy having fun while helping a worthwhile cause, then make plans to attend tomorrow evening&8217;s Tide &8216;n Tiger Tailgate II.

The Tide &8216;n Tiger Tailgate II will be held at Baumhower&8217;s restaurant in the Lee Branch Shopping Center on Hwy 280 (across from Greystone) tomorrow, July 27, from 6-9 p.m.

The Tailgate, organized by Legends for Children (a local charity founded by former Auburn quarterback Randy Campbell and former University of Alabama star Kermit Kendrick), will give fans of all ages the chance to meet a variety of football legends: legends such as Kenny Stabler, Stan White, Bob Baumhower, Randy Campbell, Andrew Zow, Jay Barker and others.

Attendees will find plenty of food prepared by the folks at Baumhower&8217;s including their famous wings, black beans with rice, black & white chicken, homemade banana pudding and much more.

Legends will be ready to sign autographs and kids will find lots of fun activities.

Tickets are available at the door for $25 per person.

Beyond the fun and good food, The Tailgate will raise money for Making Strides of Alabama; a charity founded in 2000 to help provide comprehensive physical programs for children with Cerebral Palsy and motor deficits by a family whose twin daughters have Cerebral Palsy.

Making Strides of Alabama is a group of committed volunteers and families who seek, not a cure for Cerebral Palsy and motor deficits but rather new and additional programs that are centered on the concept of structured intensive physical exercises.

The programs allow participants to hone their abilities and reach new goals through hard work.

Sounds a lot like what it takes to become a legend and these children certainly are.

Good food, college football and making a difference in the lives of others; hard to imagine a better way to get ready for the coming football season
