Funeral service for Joe A. Thompson, age 75, of Vincent, was at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at First Baptist Church of Vincent.

Burial followed in Vincent City Cemetery. Visitation was Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Thompson, who passed away on Saturday, July 15, 2006, at his home, was born on August 28, 1930, in Vincent, AL. He was retired from Alabama Power and served his country during the Korean War in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife, Nita Thompson; daughters, Marcia Thompson and Beth Thompson Fogarty and her spouse John; grandchildren, Julie Ann Fogarty and Ben Thompson Fogarty; stepsons, Bradley Jantz and Jeffrey Jantz; sisters, Fanny Hinds, Billye T. Whitlock, and Joy T. Limbaugh and her spouse Shealey; and sister-in-law, Vestula Thompson.
