Alabaster city manager Tony Rivera is no longer with the city, Alabaster Mayor David Frings said in an issued statement last Wednesday.

Rivera had been working for the city for 17 months.

Frings stated that the city had decided to go in a different direction with Rivera&8217;s position.

Neither Alabaster City Attorney Greg Morris nor Frings would comment on the reason for Rivera&8217;s leaving. Both officials declined to say whether Rivera was fired or if he resigned.
