Alonzo Brewer, Jr., age 63, of Alabaster, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2006 in a local hospital.

Funeral services were held at Charter Funeral Home on Monday at 2 p.m.

Visitation was held two hours prior to the services. Reverend Les Hughes officiated at the services.

Mr. Brewer was born in Dogwood in Shelby County on Oct. 15, 1942, the son of Alonzo Brewer, Sr. and Buner Vanderslice Brewer. He proudly served his country with love honor and valor in the United States Army for twelve years and retired from the United States Post Office.

Survivors of Mr. Brewer include his wife, Betsey R. Brewer; sons, Timothy J. Brewer (Cherry) of Alabaster and James R. Brewer (Monica) of N.J.; sister, Virgie Wilkinson of Alabaster and four grandchildren, Jonathan, Jeremiah, Jonah and Lev Brewer. Arrangements were under the direction of Charter Funeral Home in Calera
