Montevallo citizen group focuses on development

The &8220;Citizens for Montevallo&8221; community group is inviting the public to two meetings that will focus on development issues.

Paul Kennedy will speak Tuesday, Aug. 29 about the Farm and Ranch Protection program and the Your Town program.

Kennedy is a project coordinator for the United States Department of Agriculture, assigned to the Cawaco Resource Conservation and Development Council, Inc. The council serves the people of Blount, Chilton, Jefferson, Shelby and Walker counties to fulfill their mission providing and coordinating leadership and partnerships, and of promoting conservation, development and sustained use of our natural resources.

Stephen Bradley will speak Tuesday, Sept. 12 about development issues from BARD&8217;s (Builders Alliance for Responsible Development, Inc.) perspective.

Bradley is the president of Stephen Bradley & Associates LLC, a comprehensive, full service public affairs firm specializing in public relations, media relations, crisis communications, issues management and strategic planning.

Bradley&8217;s firm represents, BARD, a coalition of Birmingham area business and development interests whose mission is to foster responsible economic development and growth while protecting the environment.

Both meetings will be a 7 p.m. at the University Baptist Church fellowship hall. The meetings should last no more than two hours, with the first half of the meeting for speakers and the remaining time for questions
