Mrs. Hilda Walton, age 85, of Harpersville died Wednesday, Sept. 6 at Coosa Valley Medical Center.

Services were held Friday, Sept. 8 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Harpersville. The Rev. Donald Parrish and Jere Mahaffey officiated. Visitation was Thursday, Sept. 7 from 5:30-8 p.m. at Curtis and Son Childersburg Chapel. She was laid to rest in Harpersville Cemetery.

She was survived by four daughters, Tommye Walton (Dwight) Lyon of Wilsonville, Mary Ann Walton (Denny) Fant, Candy Walton (Steve) Mahaffey of Childersburg and Anita Walton (Craig) Hallman of Rockmart, Ga.; brother, Walt Ledford of Newport News, Va.; sister, Ruby McAbee of Ashville, N.C.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Madison Renol Walton and son Madison Renol (Sonny) Walton.

Her grandsons served as pallbearers. The family will accept flowers or donations may be made to First Baptist Church of Harpersville. Curtis and Son Funeral Home Childersburg Chapel directed the service.
