Eagles bounce back against Homewood

The 6A Oak Mountain Eagles made a statement last Friday night &8212;
they are not dead yet.
The Eagles started the year 0-2, but Friday night they traveled to Homewood and knocked off a tough region opponent 21-0.
&8220;We played better and Homewood had a couple of turnovers,&8221; said Eagles head football coach Jerry Hood. &8220;Of course we created a couple.&8221;
Daniel Penn had an interception and Marshall Houston caused a fumble.
Hood also recognized his offensive line.
Quarterback Richie Fordham rushed 15 times for 60 yards and was 10 of 12 passing for 127 yards and two touchdowns.
Nick Anderson rushed 11 times for 49 yards and one touchdown.
Logan Unruh caught an 8-yard pass for a touchdown and Barrett Paulk caught a 69-yard pass for a touchdown.
The turning point of the game came when the Eagles took the second half kickoff and drove 80 yards to go up 14-0.
Oak Mountain struck first on Fordham&8217;s 69-yard pass to Paulk and Mike Caldwell kick.
Anderson cored on a 6-yard run. And Unruh took in an 8-yard touchdown pass.
Oak Mountain will next face region opponent Minor at home
