The Thompson Warriors grabbed a big region win on the road downing Hillcrest 21-7 in 6A action last Friday night.
The Warriors improved to 2-1, 1-1 and will host region opponent Jackson Olin this Friday.
THS head football coach Brian Maner said he was proud of his players,
particularly the defense, which grabbed four interceptions.
Offensively, Maner said the team suffered penalties, which he said has to be corrected.
Thompson was penalized six times for 55 yards but out rushed Hillcrest 270 yards to 84. The Warriors were good on five of 13 passes for 81 yards to 11 of 25 for 105 yards by Hillcrest.
Hillcrest coughed the ball up twice while Thompson suffered no fumbles.
While the score was tied at the half at 7, the Warriors pulled away in the fourth quarter outscoring Hillcrest 14-7
