Evangel Christian School continues to win big in 8-man football action.

The Lightning scorched Emerald City 56-28 last Friday. But this time it was no blowout from the beginning.

Emerald City took an early 8-0 lead and led at the half 22-20 at the half.

However, after the slow start, it was all Evangel. The Lightning outscored Emerald City 22-0 in the third quarter and 14-6 in the fourth.

Evangel head football coach Bill Snuggs said it was the work of his offensive line that got Evangel back into the contest.

He singled out the play of Cody Browning at tailback and wide receiver and the work of offensive linemen Blake Milner, Scott Huggins and Nick Jones.

Isaac Snuggs completed 9 of 16 passes for 132 yards and suffered two interceptions.

Hunter Price rushed nine times for 150 yards and three touchdowns, and Kevin Marlow rushed 14 times for 122 yards and four touchdowns.

Jacob Snuggs caught four passes for 66 yards.

The win lifts Evangel to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in conference play. They will travel Friday to play the Rocket City A Team in Huntsville.
