Jags pick up win at Bob Jones

The Spain Park Jaguars enjoyed a 24-7 victory over the Bob Jones on the road this past Friday to improve to 3-1 overall.

Enjoyed is the operative word for this non-region encounter that was dominated by the Jaguars.

Ben Meadows struck first for Spain Park with a 34-yard field goal to put the visitors up 3-0 at the half.

The Patriots responded with a 1-yard touchdown run and kick in the third quarter to take a brief 7-3 lead. But it was all Spain Park from there.

The dominance by the Jaguars was both on ground and through the air. Spain Park ground up the turf for 213 and struck through the air lanes for 119 and a total offensive production of 332 yards.

Garrett Grisham collected a 43-yard pass from Cody Wells to put the Jaguars on top for good.

Cody Jackson followed that with a 4-yard touchdown run. And James Willis scored on an 11-yard run. Meadows added all the PATs.

The Jaguars held Bob Jones to 54 yards on the ground and 57 through the air for 111 yards of offense.

Well completed seven of 14 pass for the Jaguars for 119 yards and one touchdown.

Eli Smith led all rushers with 106 yards on 18 carries. But he was closely followed by James Willis who had 91 yards on 13 carries and one touchdown.

In addition to Grisham&8217;s 43-yard touchdown catch, Justin Diliberto caught three passes for 53 yards.

Defensively William Green led the Jaguars with seven tackles and one sack.
