This past Friday was not good for Shelby County&8217;s two 8-man football teams.

Evangel filled what would have been an open week with a trip to Franklin, Tenn. to play Franklin Classical and was defeated 62-18.

Hope played Heritage Christian in Hueytown and was defeated 28-0.

Evangel head football coach Bill Snuggs said his team was on defense for 62 plays and Franklin Classical ran on less than 10 of them.

Evangel did manage to score three touchdowns.

Isaac Snuggs connected with Hunter Price for a touchdown toss and Price scored on two other running plays.

Evangel is now 4-3, 3-0 on the year and open next week
