Winning Warriors: Thompson tops Tuscaloosa County

The Thompson Warriors kept their winning ways this past weekend, defeating Tuscaloosa County 45-20 on the road.
The Warriors improved to 5-1,3-1 on the year and will next host region foe Northridge.
Thompson head football coach Brian Maner said the win over Tuscaloosa County was a big one in region play.
Of the Warriors performance he said, &8220;Our kids played hard.&8221; He also said the team was able to capitalize on Tuscaloosa County turnovers.
Maner said his team will now have to turn its attention to Northridge and that all games are big now.
Against Tuscaloosa County the Warriors rushed for 379 and passed for 43
yards for 422 yards of offense.
Thompson held Tuscaloosa County to 42 yards rushing and 242 yards passing for 284 yards total offense.
While the Warriors did not turn the ball over, Tuscaloosa County suffered three fumbles.
The only setback for the Warriors was 100 yards in penalties.
Thompson quarterback Alan Reeves completed five of seven passes for 43 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed 16 times for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
But the leading rusher for the Warriors was Adrian Marcus, who carried the load 27 times for 200 yards and one touchdown.
Craig Robbins caught one pass for 11 yards and a touchdown.
Leading the Warrior defense were Matt Treherne with 10 tackles, Darius Ausmer with nine tackles and one sack and Austin Kilpatrick with eight tackles.
