Coosa Valley Rebels stumble

The Coosa Valley Academy Rebels put up a good fight on the road last Friday night, but fell short to region opponent Sumter Academy, 27-20.
The Rebels led 20-7 at the half, but Sumter Academy posted 20 unanswered points to take the win.
The loss drops the 1A, AISA Rebels to 3-5, 3-4 on the season with a tough South Choctaw Academy team coming to visit this Friday night.
Making good for the Rebels was quarterback Whit Lovelady, who completed eight of 12 passes for 147 yards and two touchdowns.
Steven Clinkscales carried for 114 yards and one touchdown for the Rebels while Chase Lacy had four catches for 91 yards and one touchdown.
In addition to extra point duties, Brandon Batchelor had three catches for 57 yards and one touchdown.
The Rebels made 12 first downs.
