The Shelby Academy Raiders found themselves on the short end of a hard fought region football game on the road at South Choctaw Academy last Friday night.

The Raiders, who entered the contest undefeated in region play, went down 39-32.

The loss drops the Raiders to 6-2 overall and 6-1 in region play.

Junior quarterback, JoJo Tidmore, completed five of nine passes for 53 yards, one touchdown and one interception for Shelby.

Senior Rick McBride gained 196 yards and scored two touchdowns on 23 carries while senior Cody Wilson gained 76 yards and scored two touchdowns on 15 carries.

McBride, Wilson and senior Miles Waits all made 11 tackles each.

Wilson scored on runs of 4 and 2 yards, and caught a 26-yard touchdown pass. McBride scored on a 10-yard run and a 42-yard run.

The Raiders will host region opponent Central Christian Academy, which has two loses, this Friday night.
