Police investigate four robberies in one week in Pelham area

Pelham police are investigating four armed robberies in the city over the past week.

While all of the robberies happened only hours apart from each other, Pelham police officials said there is no apparent connection between them.

According to Pelham police records, the first robbery took place at the Hibbett Sporting Goods store on Pelham Parkway on Oct. 23.

A gunman robbed the store and escaped with an undisclosed amount of money.

The second robbery took place last Wednesday morning around 5:20 a.m. when a supervisor and two drivers for Pure-Pack Ice, located on Shelby County 52, were robbed at gunpoint.

The thieves stole over $1,000 in cash from the men and a wedding ring.

The third robbery took place on Friday evening at 6:40 p.m. when a gunman robbed the Check N&8217; Go on Pelham Parkway. The robber made off with $1,725.

The final robbery took place at the Kentucky Fried Chicken on Pelham Parkway on Sunday at 8:17 p.m.

An armed man stole $1,400 from the restaurant.

Pelham police officials continued to investigate the robberies this week, but no arrests had been made at press time
