Two Westover men were arrested last Wednesday for growing marijuana indoors.

Tad Ryan Schmidt, 26, and Adam Michael Schmidt, 21, were arrested and both charged with one count of unlawful manufacture of a controlled substance and one count of unlawful possession of marijuana.

Police say investigators from the Shelby County Drug Enforcement Task Force responded to a complaint of marijuana being grown in the 3000 block of Westover Road.

Once on the scene, investigators discovered marijuana plants, marijuana packaged for sale and the equipment necessary to grow the drug.

Police removed the growing tools and 18 ounces of the drug, which has an estimated street value of $10,000. Officials say when running at full production, the facility could produce $175,000 of marijuana annually.

Both suspects are currently being held in the Shelby County Jail each on $20,000 bond
