A three-car accident on U.S. Highway 280 last Wednesday killed a 22-year-old Vincent man.

Joey Barber was pronounced dead on the scene shortly after the wreck, which occured around 5:30 in the afternoon just two miles from Chelsea.

Barber was driving a 1999 Honda Civic westbound on U.S. 280 when he collided with a 1997 Ford F350 truck and a 2006 Cadillac CTS.

The two other drivers walked away with only a few bruises.

According to Alabama State Trooper spokesman Sgt. Tim Sartain, Barber was not ejected from the vehicle and was not wearing his seatbelt.
