Residents of Shelby and Jefferson Counties are being urged to attend public meetings on January 22-23, discussing a possible elevated highway along U.S. 280.

Both meetings will be held at the Cahaba Grand Conference Center, formally the HealthSouth building, located on Highway 280. The meeting on Jan. 22 will take place from 2-4 p.m. and will center on the changes to the eastern or Shelby County side of the project.

Meanwhile, the second meeting on Jan. 23 will take place from 6-8 p.m. and will look more at the western portion primarily located in Jefferson County.

The meetings are not expected to include specifics of the plan but will give the public a chance to ask questions and comment.
