Funeral service for James Morris, 80, of Shelby, will be at 1 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 4, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Mr. Morris, who passed away on Thursday, Feb. 1 at his home, was born on December 4, 1926 in Shelby County.

Mr. Morris retired from Corning Glass, Inc. where he worked for 28 years.

He was a devout member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he attended regularly and served as a Deacon.

He is preceded in death by a son, Wayne Morris and a daughter, Janette Byron. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Morris; children, Randy (Terri) Morris, Teresa (Judson) Lee, Dana Morris; 14 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Fernwood Morris, sisters, Juanita Whitson, Doris Sigona

and a host of family and friends.
