The town of Wilsonville celebrated the ribbon cutting of its new town hall on Sunday, Feb. 4.

&8220;When you live here all of your life, there are some things you want to see and this is one of them,&8221; said Mayor Rosemary Liveoak.

Renovations on the town hall started earlier this year, but Liveoak said talks of sprucing up the building have been in the works for years.

&8220;I was tired of talking about it,&8221; said Liveoak. &8220;At one point I said &8216;just buy me a gallon of paint.&8217;&8221;

But the renovations included much more than just a fresh coat of paint.

Contractors completely redesigned the building and added a Sheriff&8217;s substation, library and council chamber.

The town council spent reserved money and borrowed $400,000 from M&F Bank to finish the

project.

&8220;It&8217;s a dream come true. It brings back civic pride. It&8217;s a landmark within itself,&8221; said Liveoak.

The building will offically open on Feb. 15
