Students at Spain Park High School now have a chance to expedite their career paths.

The school has created majors for its sudents to try out long before they step foot on a college campus.

When students finish the ninth grade they are allowed to choose a major, in one of various studies, to focus on for the next three years.

Students are able to include the courses in their schedule because of the room that is already made for electives. Each class taken, even if the student drops the major, will count toward graduation as an elective.

Currently, students have a laundry list of majors they can try. They include studies in accounting, performing arts, business administration, sports medicine and core subjects like math.

Assistant principal Amanda Hood said they hope the list will grow every year
